SUMMARY:CAROLINA LEE (Solo) feat. Max Braun (Dreampop from Berlin)
DESCRIPTION:Nadja Carolina performs the minimalist dream pop songs from her band Carolina Lee’s new album\, *It’s Still Now*\, in stripped-down arrangements alongside the album’s guitarist and producer\, Max Braun (who also produced 2 albums for Paul Armfield). With her dark timbre\, she sings the melodies of these slow\, dreamy\, and at times hypnotic compositions. This creates a pull that draws you into a time loop between yesterday and today. Despite all its melancholy\, “It’s Still Now” sounds more playful and hopeful than the debut album “Haunted Houses” (2021). It brings to mind female singer-songwriters of the 1970s and the dream pop of the 1990s. “It’s Still Now” is also a personal album. The lyrics deal with loss and new beginnings. They tell of walks through her hometown of Berlin—a place that sometimes feels foreign—of new love\, caregiving\, and lonely nights in half-empty bars\, where one is unprepared for the hope that suddenly strikes. The album was recorded in collaboration with musician and producer Max Braun in an old farmhouse in northern Germany and will be released on November 29\, 2024\, via Marzipan Records.\n\n\nWebsite\nwww.carolinalee.band\nInstagram\nhttps://www.instagram.com/carolinaleeband/\nYouTube\nhttps://www.youtube.com/@carolinaleeband\nFacebook\nhttps://www.facebook.com/CarolinaLeeBand/\nBandcamp\nhttps://carolinaleeband.bandcamp.com/album/its-still-now\nSoundcloud\nhttps://soundcloud.com/user-14158712\nSoundcloud It’s Still Now\nhttps://on.soundcloud.com/747eHcQLTczamT3x5\n\n\n\n\nMax Braun\nWebsite\nhttps://www.maxbraunmusic.de/\nInstagram\n\nhttps://www.instagram.com/maxbraun_music/

SUMMARY:DOGSAIL Book Launch
DESCRIPTION:“A barking good read. A must for all sailors and dog-lovers” – Tom Cunliffe \nA doctor spoke carefully. Long stay. Months in intensive care. A smaller\, more cautious life. Pete listened\, signed himself out\, walked to the marina\, and climbed back aboard his yacht. \nSeven years later\, he was ready to sail around Britain. He just needed a crew: a detective trying to escape London\, a Bernese Mountain Dog who refuses to go to the toilet onboard\, and a chatbot convinced it can navigate. \nWhat could possibly go wrong? \nWhen yacht racer and detective Jenny Whelan joins her partner Pete aboard their ten-metre yacht Rimau\, the plan sounds simple enough: sail 2\,000 miles around Britain\, pass through the Caledonian Canal\, and make it home before winter arrives. \nThere is just one complication. Their 37kg Bernese Mountain Dog\, Svea\, needs to get ashore every few hours\, forcing the crew to rethink everything from passage planning to harbour stops. Then Jenny introduces an experimental new crew member aboard: artificial intelligence. \nArmed with paper charts\, tidal calculations\, old-school seamanship and a chatbot that is fast\, confident\, and sometimes dangerously wrong\, the crew set off anticlockwise around the British Isles in a voyage that quickly becomes about far more than sailing. \nFrom torn sails off Whitby and violent tidal races in the Menai Strait to storm-bound marinas\, broken autopilots\, sleepless solo watches\, and dog-friendly pub hunts\, Dogsail is a funny\, honest and sharply observed account of modern adventure at sea. \nAlong the way\, old certainties are tested. Technology clashes with tradition. Relationships are stretched by exhaustion\, weather and close quarters. And somewhere between the tides\, the arguments\, and the enduring power of a dog’s bladder\, a reluctant dog-owner discovers an unexpected friendship. \nPart sailing memoir\, part travel adventure\, and part experiment in trust between human judgement and artificial intelligence\, Dogsail is a story about risk\, resilience\, companionship\, and what happens when you stop waiting for the perfect moment and simply leave the dock. \nPerfect for readers who love sailing adventures\, travel memoirs\, life at sea\, cruising stories\, and tales of unlikely crews finding their way together.

SUMMARY:ANTON RIPATTI Performs 'A Tribute to the Original IOW Festivals' and 'Babakamusic'
DESCRIPTION:Born and raised in the industrial Russian city of Perm at the base of the Ural mountains\, Anton heard only glimpses of the classics of rock that we take for granted\, he says ‘The first thing I did when I discovered internet in 1997 was that: I found the guy somewhere in Poland who was selling a pirate VHS concerts and he sent to me Hendrix Isle of Wight. I don’t think anyone in Perm besides me knew who Hendrix was at the time. As for me\, I found out about him purely by chance: during my first trip to St. Petersburg earlier that year\, I bought a music instruction book at a shop that came with an audio cassette. I bought it simply because the cover featured some guy with an electric guitar. It turned out to be the sheet music for “Are You Experienced?” That cassette probably had the biggest influence on my life. And as it happened\, the videotape by polish guy also included a bonus—Miles Davis’s concert at the Isle of Wight Festival! That was how I first discovered who Miles was!’  \n As a tribute to this formative experience the first half of his Medina Bookshop show will be a performance of songs performed at the original 68/69/70 IOW Festivals in his inimitable\, unpredictable style \nThe second half of the evening will be given over to Babakamusic\, a surreal\, genre-blending live performance that merges music\, theatrical absurdity\, visual storytelling\, and dynamic lighting into a one-of-a-kind experience. The show draws from jazz\, experimental blues\, psychedelic folk\, dark cabaret and clownery to lead the audience through a humorous and emotional sonic tale. Each show features dynamic stage presence\, multilingual vocals\, shadow-play and lighting design reminiscent of a Lynchian dreamscape. It’s part cabaret\, part concert\, part light-theatre\, and 100% immersive.

SUMMARY:PETUNIA
DESCRIPTION:Step into an evening of rich storytelling and spellbinding song as the enigmatic singer-songwriter Petunia brings a rare solo performance to Medina Bookshop. \nBlending elements of folk\, country\, ragtime and old-time roots\, Petunia’s music feels both timeless and refreshingly original—like a late-night radio broadcast drifting in from another era. With a voice that can shift from tender and intimate to wild and weathered\, and lyrics full of wit\, longing and unexpected turns\, every song is its own small world. \nExpect tales of love and loss\, strange journeys and beautiful misadventures\, all delivered with charm\, humour and a touch of the surreal. In the cosy\, book-lined setting of Medina Bookshop\, this promises to be a truly immersive and memorable night—part concert\, part storybook\, and wholly unique. \nCome along\, settle in\, and let Petunia carry you somewhere else for a while. \nPetunia is more than just an entertainer\, he’s a modern musical enigma. Imagine that David Lynch and Nick Cave had a hillbilly baby\, that yodeled… or Tom Waits meets Elvis at Woody Guthrie’s hobo junction. This is just one way of describing the man known simply as Petunia. He’s an adventure seeker\, a poker player\, and a mysterious stranger. He’s been referred to as “The Savior of Country Music”\, and a man who exists in a different era\, bringing the past forth as something new to be celebrated and not forgotten. \nPetunia grew up in rural Quebec\, in exactly the sort of surroundings that a country musician would find idyllic\, with old dilapidated barns\, secret forts\, and acres of unspoiled land. As an adult\, the wandering spirit took a firm hold on his life\, so he set out on the road\, playing every major street corner across Canada and throughout the NYC subway system\, before graduating to full fledged touring musician. When he’s not on the road playing shows\, Petunia is also involved in the theatre world; building side projects\, writing scores\, acting\, or collaborating with theatre artists. He currently resides in Vancouver BC\, and works with several sets of sidemen across Canada\, the US and Europe in addition to his own Vancouver based band\, The Vipers. A restless wanderer\, a musical historian\, and a quirky yet amazing talent\, Petunia is simply a Canadian treasure joining the greats from north of the 49th. \nA poem by Al Mader describing Petunia: \nRazor sharp hombre\nall snake eyes and boxcars\nsteals a kiss from a raven-haired\nflapper – slips out the side window\nof a 1920s speakeasy\nOut fleet foots a flat foot\nhops a train to\nBuddy Bolden’s tombstone\nwins some horseflesh playing\nhigh stud – pitches camp\nbeneath a prairie sky\nwatched over by a full moon\nand a lovesick coyote\nhowling for mercy…

SUMMARY:Jon Wilks
DESCRIPTION:Jon Wilks is an acclaimed singer\, songwriter and fingerpicking guitarist whose music is steeped in English folk traditions\, memory and place. Hailed as “one of the driving forces of the London folk scene\,” he first made his name reworking traditional songs from Birmingham and the Midlands\, before turning toward deeply personal\, autobiographical writing on his later releases. \nHis albums trace a journey from regional storytelling to intimate reflection\, with 2023’s Before I Knew What Had Begun I Had Already Lost earning widespread praise\, and 2025’s Needless Alley marking a striking shift into original material.
