He's been described by LiveTrigger Magazine as "the king of modern antifolk", and often been noted for his unique sound and stage presence, described by German Shepherd Records as "pure genius". His soulful, articulate songs often tell stories in nonlinear, surreal ways, with intricate, poignant guitarwork.
A native of NYC, Cannonball Statman has penned over 100 songs, released over a dozen albums, and done extensive tours in North America, Europe, and East Asia, sharing stages with artists such as Jeffrey Lewis, Julia Cumming, and David Peel. His unique style sets soulful and often surreal lyrics that Radio Javali calls “great American storytelling” to music that daMusic describes as “quite fun”.
