John Trotman’s writing reflects (sometimes with anger, often with sadness and always with awe) on the fragilities of our world. He handles words like a sculptor, his compassionate insights lifting off the page with texture and contours. In his latest volume he explores personal memories, mortality, medical and astronomical marvels, recent British politics, historical and literary continuities and, in the last two pieces, the unfolding tragedy in Ukraine. An accomplished public speaker with a great delivery, John’s readings will be interspersed with musical interludes provided by the accomplished and ever tasteful harpist Theresa Ellis.
