‘The World of EH Shepard’ talk by James Campbell

Come join us for a talk followed by Q&A and learn more about the creator of the wonderful illustrations that we are all so familiar with.

James Campbell has been involved with the world of E H Shepard, best known for his illustrations of the children’s classics Winnie-the-Pooh and The Wind in the Willows, for more than 25 years, and over that time has become increasingly knowledgeable about E H Shepard’s life and work. His first book, ‘Shepard’s War’, was runner-up for Military History book of the year in 2015, followed by ’The Art of Winnie-the-Pooh’ in 2017 which accompanied a worldwide exhibition celebrating the 90th anniversary of original publication. In 2025 he published a joint biography of A A Milne and E H Shepard, which was widely reviewed – even on BBC Radio 4’s flagship ’Today’ programme.
