Description
Dinosaur Isle in 101 Fossils by Martin Munt, Alex Peaker and Trudie Wilson
The Isle of Wight is one of Britain’s greatest fossil collecting localities. Its world-famous south-west coast is the richest dinosaur site in Europe and one of the top ten dinosaur localities in the world. Its cliffs contain fossils which record the Cretaceous greenhouse, to the first extensive ice sheets of the Oligocene, and the Icehouse Earth we are all part of.
Published to celebrate the Dinosaur Isle’s twentieth birthday and the two hundredth anniversary of the founding of the collection, this book showcases specimens selected by the museum staff, to tell the geological history of the Island through 101 specimens.
