100 years of island photographs from the 1880s to the 1960s. Most of the photographs speak for themselves but some benefit from a little explanation. Rather put any captions on the photo pages, notes on relevant photographs are found at the back of the book. The dating of photographs can be fraught with danger. For that reason the photographs are presented in the safer format of decade by decade.
