William Boyd’s 17th novel is as good as any he has written. An ambitious attempt to chart an entire life from birth to death as well as a whole century, this mock biography plays to his strengths as a delightful story-teller, one whose lightness of touch betrays a layered and nuanced exploration of the human condition.
I’ll be very interested to know your thoughts on this wonderful book.
